Devanadi’s Traditions & Affiliations

Our Mission

Devanadi is a school of yoga, tantra and wellness studies that unites a community of holistic, life-loving and bright souls. We empower people with authentic and time-tested tools and teachings to help reach their highest potential. These offerings provide support to study, train/get certified and heal – ultimately bringing light and goodness to all corners of the world, at home and beyond.

Why Study a Tradition?

At Devanadi, we are strong believers in the wisdom, faith, and support that connecting with a living tradition brings to us. Parampara is a word often used to describe the thread of teachings that are transmitted from “one to another” when the dharma, or wisdom, is passed on with integrity.

We encourage you to ask questions and learn more. Keep in mind that our approach is to empower the individual’s highest potential, as opposed to belonging to a community that feels “cult-like” and limiting. We believe that the support gained through svadyaya (self study, self awareness), dharma (the teachings, right action), and sangha (community), help us shed the unwanted parts of ourselves. In turn, we become more like our True Selves; thus, the brighter, stronger and more uplifted all of society becomes.

Below you will find more information on some of the traditions that we study and practice at Devanadi. Again Devanadi means “sacred rivers.” Studying from a variety of like-minded traditions is what inspires us to merge into that great stream of consciousness that aligns our hearts and minds with the Universal One, and Universal Goodness.

Founded by Yogarupa Rod Stryker

ParaYoga is one of the most in depth and transformational schools of Yoga in the country, blending elements of Tantra, Classical Yoga and Ayurveda to create a powerful tool for living to one’s fullest potential. As our 235/500hr Yoga Teacher Trainings and Intensives are heavily rooted in this system, most of the faculty at Devanadi School of Yoga and Wellness are connected to and will teach from these amazing tools and they will share them with you! Devanadi Founder and Executive Director, Tanya Boigenzahn Sowards, is one of a select few teachers who has earned the ParaYoga Level 3 Certification, and is the first and only certified ParaYoga teacher in Minnesota. Many of our teachers are also on the path to becoming certified ParaYoga teachers as they continue their studies.

Mission Statement:
ParaYoga is a living link to the ancient sciences of yoga and tantra. Our mission is to serve these teachings by continuing to be a leading resource for the dissemination of their wisdom, power and capacity to positively affect all aspects of modern life.

Our unique approach is to emphasize the light of direct experience, combined with authoritative knowledge and accessibility so that students and teachers of all levels – and society as a whole – are uplifted by yoga and tantra’s time-tested practices, leading to ultimate fulfillment and freedom.
