Class Levels
Level 1 = Beginning
Introduction for beginning students or students coming back from a hiatus from yoga. Emphasis is on learning the basic poses as well as fundamentals of alignment through stretching and strengthening to achieve balance. Each class will pay special attention to standing poses and breath, and ends with mindful breathing and basic meditation.
Level 2 - Mixed levels /
Intermediate
For students familiar with the basic poses, knows when to take a break, and is working on balancing the breath throughout practice. Includes a wider range of poses including intermediate standing poses, beginning inversions, backbends, forward bends and twists will be reviewed and refined. How to link these poses mindfully (vinyasa krama) with appropriate breathing and meditation will be addressed. We will assist you in bringing the benefits of yoga into your daily life.
Level 3 - Intermediate to Advanced
For students who have taken Intermediate classes for at least one year. Students should be able to do headstand (at the wall), full arm balance (at the wall), shoulderstand, and backbends from the floor. In addition to refining familiar poses, variations of the inversions as well as more challenging backbends and twists will be explored. As understanding of the poses deepens, the inner experience of yoga reveals itself.
