2) Essence of Bhagwan Gitateaching
Saturday, June 2 | 10:30am-6pm

Bhagwad Gita, loosely translated as Divine Song, is the guide-map to Yogic life. Study of Yoga becomes effective when we learn practical ways to live Yoga instead of doing Yoga. Bhadwad Gita is a treasure for anyone who wishes to live a life with awareness, responsibility and divinity.

In this workshop, we will explore the role of Bhadwad Gita in Yoga, in the life of Yogis/ Yoginis, in the life of a human being and that of a householder. We will go over some important verses pertaining to life, Yoga, karma, bhakti, and divinity. We shall chant these verses and also explore their deeper meaning.

A special part of this workshop will be to learn the essence of Bhagwan Gita known as Gita Saara. This helps us understand how to consolidate the essence as reminders which we shall benefit from in everyday life, everyday situations.

Cost: $108 ($98 for Devanadi TT grads)

3) Mantras and Mani Chikitsamala
Sunday, June 3 | 10:30am-6pm

“Among rituals, I am the ritual of mantra repetition.” Bhagavad-Gita

Mantra are sacred formula for the cleansing, strengthening, purification, guidance and clearing of the mind from old patterns, samskaras, karmas, vasana and vikalpas.

Mani are gemstone beads that imbue the practitioner with healing properties during practice or by the wearing of a mala necklace or bracelet.

“Just by repeating the name, that which can not be understood: Will be understood. Just by repeating the name that which can not be seen: Will be seen. Therefore, without depending upon mantra… Buddhahood cannot be attained.”
Dalai Lama, The Kalachakra Tantra

The effect, the impact and the strength of the mantra depends upon the method of chanting, time of chanting, the initiator of the mantra and the mani (beads) used for chanting.

In this workshop we will explore:

  • What is Mantra, types of Mantra
  • Important Components of Mantra Vidya
  • What makes mantra a therapy
  • Mantra Chikitsa with Bija sounds
  • Mantra and Mani (beads)
  • How to use a Japa Mala
  • How to choose a Japa Mala

This is a great workshop for those practicing Yoga Therapy and/or Ayurveda!

Cost: $108 ($98 for Devanadi TT grads)
