Workshop participants learn a variety of Yin and Yang postures, which blend and balance the body’s yin and yang energies. Instruction also includes methods of flowing with movement, how to grow the body to optimize flexibility, visualization exercises and breathing meditations. In addition, the properties of the five elements are explained and demonstrated as Master Zink leads students through the cycle of energy transformation.
In this Yin yoga workshop we will explore:
Yin Yoga – Postures of stillness for promoting growth, clearing energetic blockages, and enhancing circulation.
Yang Yoga – Postures for developing core strength and muscle tone, balance, and stamina.
Flow Yoga – Including both Yin and Yang yoga, Taoist Flow is more than just a sequence of postures. In Taoist Flow the process of transition from pose to pose is as integral to the practice as the postures themselves. Taoist movement incorporates continuous, smooth and circular motion that promotes ease, fluidity and grace in the body.
Taoist Alchemy – Cultivating and harmonizing the five transforming alchemical elemental energies that are contained in the universal life field and animate distinct qualities in the body such as lightness, fluidity, strength, springiness, and calm.
THE FIVE ELEMENTS BIRTHING CYCLE (Day 1)
– The Five Elements: Theory, Energetic qualities, The cycle of transmutation – Philosophy of Taoist yoga- the concept of non-interference
– Relationship of the microcosmic self to the macro-cosmic universe
– The natural breath cycle and the circulation of energy
– Taoist meditations for grounding and relaxation
THE FIVE ELEMENTS YIELDING CYCLE (Day 2)
– The Five Elements: The Yin and Yang aspects, Health and balance of the emotions and internal organs
– The Taoist way of spontaneity and receptivity
– Being in harmony with our individual Tao
– Relaxing the thinking mind to awaken to our primal and intuitive natures
– How to grow the body supple
– Taoist visualizations for deepening your practice
Participants who complete the requirements earn a certificate of completion for the total hours of the workshop plus the number of hours committed to the assignment. These hours are applicable towards teacher Paulie Zink’s FULL Yin Yoga Teacher Training Certification course.
To earn a certificate, students must attend all sessions of the weekend workshop plus read two translations of the Tao Te Ching and write a personal reflection of at least 100 words on a chapter of their choice. Attendees who do not wish to earn the certificate are not required to write an essay.

About Paulie Zink
Master Paulie Zink is the founder of Yin yoga. He received intensive private training for ten years as the sole protege of Chinese Taoist yoga and Kung fu Master Cho Chat Ling. A three time international martial arts grand-champion, Paulie is renowned for his fluidity, flexibility and artistry of motion. Through his many years of practice and study Paulie continues to evolve his unique style of yoga that is rooted in the ancient Taoist tradition he learned. Cancellation Policy: No refunds. A non-refundable deposit of $75 holds your spot. You must pay your balance by the early bird deadline to receive that discount, and payment in full due 2 weeks before the event. Cancellations require 2 weeks notice of cancellation by phone or email. You will receive a credit, less a cancellation fee of $75, within 2 weeks or you may apply your payment towards studio credit towards another workshop/training. If cancel within 2 weeks of a workshop, your payment is forfeited, and no studio credit will be given.
