Yoga Therapy for Manipura (3rd) Chakra - Connect With Your Fire Sunday, August 7 | 4-6pm | $30 | Danielle De Pillis With the second chakra we began to connect with our energy and emotions to get our energy flowing more freely and easily. In Yoga Therapy for Manipura Chakra we begin to gather up this energy to be directed for transformation. As we continue the climb up the ladder, we enter society and acknowledge how we live in the world and within our various roles within society. Living in the world requires proper use of energy for the health of the individual and society. Begin to uncover and move beyond conditioned patterns to best channel your personal power. We will use tools and techniques from Integrative Yoga Therapy. This workshop will include lecture, body awareness exercises, yoga poses, mudras and more. Homework with be given to encourage you to continue self work until we meet next. Learn to identify a student's needs by observing their movement, energy centers (chakras), and biofield. Not only will you learn intermediate and advanced adjustments, but also learn how to encourage your students to move into poses by understanding the energetics behind it all. Help avoid over-adjusting and learn to give just the right amount of assistance. Bring your pose adjustment requests! NOTE: You do NOT have to have taken Part 1 to register for this workshop. The Yoga of Chant Workshop Friday, August 12 | 6:00 - 7:30pm | $16 or use your Punch Card for a reduced rate | Margie Weaver The Yoga of Chant is open to everyone. Everything in the universe sings. Every culture sings. There is endless research on the power of the voice and the breath to heal and transform. Explore a variety of practices and songs designed to clear obstacles and connect us with the ever-present joyful, compassionate, peaceful, unconditional ground of our being. Focus on the space of the breath and the energy of the voice to let go into the present moment and learn to abide in our true state of wholeness. Handouts and information about the chants provided. No singing experience required. Yin Yoga Workshop: METAL ELEMENT - Awareness and Strength Sunday, August 14 | 1:30 - 3:00pm | $20 | Shelly Shern Healthy Lung/Large Intestine chi is associated with courage and reverence and with an ability to experience our moments as precious. We will explore the power of unblocking the Lung/ LI meridians to increase our tenacity in difficult situations while still remaining present to the gifts in our everyday life. Through long-held yin poses focusing on shoulder and chest openers, pranayama and meditation we will work to open up to the magnificent world around us. Yin yoga focuses on the deeper connective tissues that house the meridian system and promotes increased flexibility and a more peaceful, serene state of mind. In addition, we will include aromatherapy, reflexology and mindfulness meditation to support our asana practice. All levels welcome. TT Workshop: Introducing Basic Mudras & Bandhas to Classes Monday, August 15 | 9:00 - 10:15am | $20 ($15 for Devanadi Yoga TT grads) | Tanya Boigenzahn Sowards, E-RYT 500 Pre-requisite: Must be a graduate of any 200 hour yoga teacher training. YA CEs: This workshop counts towards 1.25 hours towards your Yoga Alliance CE credits Hatha yoga, by definition, should always include: asana (poses), pranayama (breathing and pranic exercises), and meditation. As the student advances, they may add shatkarmas (purification practices like neti pot), bandhas (energy locks), and mudras (finger and hand positions). Come round out your yoga teaching skilss with a healthy dose of breathing and guided meditation tools for beginning and mixed levels. We'll discuss what's appropriate based on your teaching setting, as well as how to help students embrace the more subtle practices that yoga was created around to help optimize health and well being. Intro to Using Essential Oils Therapeutically - new date! We accidentally posted the wrong one... Friday, August 19 | 12:00 - 2:00pm | $35 | Melissa Farris In this fun, non-yoga workshop, local owner of Veriditas Botanicals, Melissa Farris - Clinical Herbalist/Aromatherapist & Owner/Formulator - will provide all the info you need on how to use essential oils for a variety of health (common day ailments) and household uses. Her workshop will include a PowerPoint presentation of how EOs work. You'll also get to take a tour of a variety of distilleries where these essential oils are made. Specials on her bottled oils will be available after the workshop, plus each registrant will receive THREE sample oils to take home for free of lavender, peppermint and tea tree. No experience required. Yoga & Wellness Coaching Workshop: Cultivating Body Intelligence Saturday, August 20 | 4:30 - 6:00pm | $20 | Amy Rieder, MA, RYT, Certified Wellness Coach When our minds and bodies are in synch we feel better and are able to make choices and stick to habits that support and enhance our health and well-being. Our bodies speak to us through physical sensations and offer us regular clues to what we need and to what feels best. Developing a healthy relationship with our physical selves and learning our particular "body language" helps us to discern what is serving our highest good, from the foods we eat to the exercise we do to the thoughts and the people, places and activities that inform our lives. In this workshop we will include discussion, simple energy medicine techniques and yoga that connect us to our physiological experiences. Come and get comfortable with yourself! Partner Yoga Workshop - *Yogi Date Night!* Saturday, August 27 | 5-7pm | $50 per couple | Jenn Posterick, RYT-200, RTT Warm up your weekend in this fun and energizing workshop by learning to practice yoga with someone special. Postures are done together working with balance, support, trust, alignment, strength, and flexibility. Couples are welcome or bring a friend, child, or yoga buddy. Poses are taught for a variety of levels for all to enjoy. Plus learn new partner poses and stress relieving techniques from Thai Yoga Bodywork. All levels welcome. No experience necessary. Monthly Restorative Yoga Workshop Sunday, August 28 | 4:30 - 6:00pm | $20 | Ginny Herman New studies have measured that a regular Restorative Yoga practice may help reduce blood pressure, lower serum triglycerides and blood sugar levels (increasing good cholesterol too), balance horomones for women with periomenopausal symptoms and fertility issues, as well as aid in better digestion, elimination, relieving muscle tension, insomnia and overall fatigue. Cancellation Policy: With the exception of the Thai Yoga Bodywork Trainings and 200/500 Hour Teacher Trainings which have their own cancellation policies, all workshops above require 24 notice of cancellation by phone or email. You will receive a refund within 2 weeks or you may apply your payment towards studio credit towards another workshop/training. If cancel within 24 hours of a workshop/training, your payment is forfeited, and no studio credit will be given. However you may send another person in your place. They must fill out a New Student Form if they are new to the studio. No shows will receive no credit. |
